When Buying A Home–Weather
Sounds crazy, right? How could the weather affect which home you decide to buy? But viewing a home in different types of weather is important, and here’s why.
• Rainy days. How will the property drain? Will the center of the back yard turn into a swamp? I once showed a home, and it happened to be pouring rain, sure enough the water came right to the edge of the back yard. The buyer wanted to put in a pool, so that house was taken off the list! The river was a distance away, so going in the rain was a lucky coincidence.
• Very sunny days. Florida gets HOT in the summer. Good to visit a home in the mid-afternoon when it is the warmest. Find out which rooms will stay cool, which will get overly hot, and whether this will work for you.
Knowing the most you can about a home is important. We encourage the buyers we work with to learn about the area, and of course we are there to help! Happy house-hunting!
